Description
"The 473" by Lucinda Walter
The 473 engine one of several on the Durango to Silverton train. We took the train on a past trip to CO. We boarded the narrow gauge train after a bus ride to Silverton where we spent a couple of hours enjoying the town. Then we boarded the train to Durango where we were staying. Love those old trains and the wonderful views going through the mountain passes of the San Juan forest.

Beautiful scenery! I am glad that we have a car now, but I do sometimes miss train journeys. There is a safety to them and a sociality to them that the internal combustion engine can never replace.

Very cool shot of this train, Lucinda! I love trains as my grandfather and father both worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. Fav / like
