Ancient of Times - Modern of Times by Lucinda Walter
Photograph of several of the pyramids with Cairo, Egypt, in the background. One often sees the pyramids with desert in the background and until you are actually there do you realize how close the city of Cairo is to the pyramids as most of the photographs are taken without the city in view. It was amazing to see them. My husband actually went inside one of them.... I stayed outside taking photos :)

It was so amazing to see and be there. I wanted to get the city of Cairo in the background but there was so much smog that day. Thanks!

A fine image, Lucinda! I experienced the ultimate darkness there when the lights went out while in the center of the great pyramid! :) LF

This is the setting in one of my novels, Lucinda. The Gold of Mansa Musa. I have a big shootout in the parking lot! Well done.
Lucinda Walter replied:
We were in Egypt several years ago and I was so amazed how close the pyramids are to the city.... You normally see the other side of them going out to the desert.... Thanks for stopping by. So appreciate your comments :)

Great juxtaposition of the pyramids and city, Lucinda The presence of the camels and their riders makes one appreciate the enormous size of the ancient structures. f/l

Fantastic image Lucinda; shows a true sense of scale. I just finished watching a Netflix show on the pyramids; just fantastic and mysterious structures in every sense of the word; and you have managed to capture the beauty in this one really well. Great image.
