Description
The Erechiteion is located in Athens, Greece on the Acropolis. The Erechtheion, built 421 and 407 BC, is a unique and elegant temple best known for its Carytid Porch with six draped female figures (Caryatids) as supporting columns. Here you can see only 4 with the city of Athens in the background.

What a beautiful capture of a piece of history Lucinda; love having Athens in the background. I think I've seen this specific angle and perspective before if I'm not mistaken on RB in your portfolio a few years back. What a wonderful capture. I've said it then, and I'm saying it now again.
Lucinda Walter replied:
Hi Hany, Thank you very much. Yes, you would have seen this in RB. I've been putting photos up on both sites. Thanks again my friend

An absolutely fabulous capture of the Caryatids. Beautiful beautiful background!!! Wonderful light and shadow on the ladies. Did you hear the story about the one Lord Elgin removed? They say in Athens, that the night after he removed her, there was weeping and moaning heard all over Athens ... her sister Caryatids, weeping for her loss.
Lucinda Walter replied:
Dearest Lois, thanks for your lovely comments. I hadn't heard about the story..... Wonderful! Will now be looking that up... Thanks again, my friend :))

This is so amazing....love the description. I am so amazed that this much work went into building and detail. I try to think of the tools and how much time this must have taken. Awesome perspective with Athens in the background. SE f/g/t

Oh my, this is truly incredible, such strength in the ancient wise ones, it is amazing that The Erechiteion still stands, I admire how you captured them with the angle, as if you are flying by in a hot air balloon. Oh my, I should love to see them in person. I also love how you captured Athens moving so silently in the distance. Loved and favored -
