This brilliant yellow-to-orange flower with varieties showing peripheral white, blooms from March to April in our area, depending on winter rains. The flower remains open only in full sunlight. The fields on the desert floor and on the mountains were covered in these beautiful flowers, even if for a short period of time. But while they lasted it brought new life to those here, as we felt that spring had come to the desert floor and the season of winter was gone again.
