The North Rim, Averaging 8000 feet/ 2438 m above sea level, rises 1000 feet/ 305 m higher than the South Rim, and because of its remote location, is much less accessible than the South Rim. The North Rim has a short season. Lodging and restaurants are open from May 15 through October 15 each year. Even in good weather the North Rim is harder to get to. It is 220 miles / 354 km by car from the South Rim, or 21 miles / 34 km by foot across the canyon by way of the North and South Kaibab Trails.

To do the best work, we have to know how varies colors will look in the ten step Greyscale. (The name is deceptive for the scale runs from black and whites without detail. Though only SPECULAR white should be without detail and small black areas.) For adjusting images for color, does not give a FULL tonal values, which makes a lot of color images look flat or grayed. We can adjust exposure in Pre and Post Processing, get the most out of the image. Knowing this allowed those like Ansel Adams, Weston, and Stiecken and others to become Masters of the art in every image.... This is excellentt photography and composition... To those who wish to create Such Greyscale images search for 'DIGITAL ZONE SYSTEM" ON THE nternet. This image was FEATURED in the group 'ANSEL ADAMS Influence..."
