In honor of the Veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in their service to the USA and for WWII. In remembrance for Memorial Day USA 5.27.2013. Photography was taken in Tunis, Africa.North Africa American Cemetery in Carthage (about 14 miles from Tunis). Here lie 2,841 American military dead, or about 39 percent of the military burials originally made in North Africa and Iran (construction was completed in 1960). Most gave their lives in the landings in and occupation of Morocco and Algeria and subsequent fighting, which resulted in the liberation of Tunisia. To see this was very humbling. I was amazed at how beautiful this cemetery was maintained. It was a great honor to be there. Thanks so very much to our service men and women for their duty and service to the Unites States of America!
